      "A powerful image that takes the viewer back to another time - but the issues inferred in the photograph are universal and contemporary - the fragility and unpredictability of family relationships and the tensions experienced. Seems to point to the inevitable changes in the parent/child relationship as the years progress. Very well captured and framed in an instant by the photographer in challenging conditions."

    Artist Statement

    "I was the art director on the FX Channel series AMERICAN HORROR STORY, Season 2, and I took this shot during one of our night shoots on a dark country road. The actors were waiting in the car, which was about to take off, and I ran up to it and snapped this image. It was incredibly lucky, because the body language and look on their faces at that moment really capture a universal family power dynamic; and a miracle, too, because it was actually in focus."
